Decide what must be true before a Copilot pilot.

Use these five steps in order. A team can stop after any step if the fit, access, cost, or review burden does not make sense.

Name one task

Choose a recurring task with approved source material, a clear owner, and limited downside.

Confirm nonprofit eligibility, prerequisite licenses, current pricing, and current app support.

Find sensitive locations, broad sharing, stale memberships, and unclear content ownership.

Write allowed, approval-required, and prohibited uses for your environment and data.

Record the baseline, train a small pilot, verify outputs, and agree on stop conditions.
